This single serving brownie recipe is the perfect treat to make when you want something warm, cozy, and chocolatey. There is enough batter for exactly one brownie.
Brownies are one of my all time favorite desserts. I have no self control and can easily eat an entire pan in a 24-48 hour time period. Not that I really mind or am bothered by that at all, but sometimes in the name of saving my stomach from chocolate overload, a single serving brownie is much more practical. I'm sure many people can relate. If you're in the market for a brownie recipe with just enough matter for one brownie, you've come to the right place.

Single Serving Brownie Ingredients:
- Butter
- Sugar
- Egg
- Vanilla
- Flour
- Salt
- Cocoa Powder
Single Serving Brownie Recipe Tips:
- Because we're working with such small quantities, it's important to be exact with your measurements.
- Mixing the ingredients in a small bowl is best, and a rubber spatula will be your best friend to get out all of the batter.
- Your ramekin may vary in height and width from mine, which may effect your cooking time. Check it with a toothpick around 17 minutes, and if it comes out wet, keep checking about every 2-3 minutes until the toothpick in the middle comes out clean. Mine took exactly 22 minutes to bake.
- Chocolate chips in the batter are optional, but a great addition. The melted chocolate however may make it difficult to tell when your brownie is finished baking since the melted chocolate will show on the toothpick even though the batter may be cooked all the way through. I recommend maybe cooking the first time with no chocolate chips, and then when you know your exact timing for doneness, you can add the chocolate chips in the next time you make the brownie.
- If you don't add the chocolate chips inside the batter, you can always sprinkle some on top after it's done baking and let them get slightly melty on top while the brownie is warm.
- You can remove the brownie from the ramekin, but I just ate it straight out of the dish with a spoon.
- I mixed the ingredients together with a small spoon.
Single Serving Brownie
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Butter, melted
- 2 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1/8 tsp Vanilla
- 1 tbsp Egg, whisked *See recipe note
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1 tbsp Cocoa
- Pinch of Salt (1/16 tsp)
- 1 tbsp Chocolate Chips, Optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350º
- Grease the ramekin with non-stick cooking spray or butter.
- In a small bowl, using a small spoon, mix together the white sugar and melted butter. Next stir in the vanilla, egg, and pinch of salt.
- Finally, add in your flour and cocoa powder and stir until just combined. Do not over stir as this will result in a tough brownie. Gently fold in your chocolate chips if you're using them.
- Bake in the oven for 20-22 minutes. If you're using a different ramekin or baking dish than me, I would recommend checking at 17 minutes and then baking in 3 minute increments if more time is needed. Mine took exactly 22 minutes to bake.
Notes:
Crack open an egg into a small bowl and whisk it together. Take a 1 tbsp scoop of egg out of the bowl and add it to your brownie batter. Discard the remaining egg, or use it in another recipe.
