This easy mug cake recipe is perfect for when you need something sweet and don't want to spend hours baking in the kitchen!
The internet is flooded with easy mug cake recipes, and up until a day ago I had never tried one because the idea of microwaved cake sounded... dry and nasty to be completely honest. I was shocked to learn that these cakes actually taste super moist, delicious, and nothing like the gross brownie that comes with a TV dinner from the freezer section. If you're in the market to enter the world of mug cakes this recipe is easy to make with basic pantry ingredients you already have on hand.
Easy Mug Cake Recipe:
- 1/4 cup + 1 1/2 tsp All Purpose Flour
- 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
- Dash of Salt
- 2 tbsp Butter, melted
- 3 tbsp Milk, any kind
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 tsp Sprinkles, (optional)
How to Make a Mug Cake:
Making a mug cake is a super straight forward process. You first stir all your dry ingredients together in a mug, then mix in all of your wet ingredients. You'll then microwave your cake for 70-90 seconds until the top is still slightly shiny, and then let it sit for one minute in the microwave to finish cooking all the way through.
I tried this recipe four different times with different size mugs on both 70 and 90 seconds and had successful results each time. The cake was surprisingly moist and tasted delicious. You would never guess it was made in the microwave.
